Perhaps this is a little irrelevant given the sunshine, but nonetheless I have been wanting to salute a certain overlooked article of clothing. I have been meaning to write this for a long time– likely since the weather was more appropriate for this kind of speech, but regardless, socks have been on my mind a lot this year. I remember I was in Kinokuniya looking at some randomly selected Japanese fashion mag when I kept seeing little bits of sock peeking out of slightly rolled, or tailored pants among the masses of . I feel like A Continuous Lean was on the right track in this post, but failed to mention that ever so important detail.

Anyway, consider the below images as tidbits of inspiration. Then I suggest you head over to Uniqlo where they have a rad selection of socks in various colors and weave, and for very little money. Then figure out how to sport them in a well considered– ideally, understated way.

I just took a break before publishing this to eat a pork burrito (they were out of chicken) at Endless Summer, probably the furthest $5 will get you in this town.

I should also mention that I was DJing last night at Mixxed Messages, one of my residencies, when none other than Frankie Nun walked in! So good to have the S&D family all together again.
