I know almost nothing for certain about John Forde, other than that I am obsessed with the 5 tracks I have on my iTunes. This apparent Frenchman recorded the majority of his emotional spacey mellowed disco-tunes in the late 70s, and as of late they have resurfaced with the growing popularity of the multiple varieties of disco. Most prominently italo (which is often a blanket term, but should reflect a lot of the cheesy italian electro pop one associates with the title)– and cosmic (championed by the heralded Club Cosmic DJ Daniele Baldelli, and his rather spontaneous and eclectic tastes– though often mid-tempo, always beat heavy, and usually encompassing an element or at least the girth of rock'n'roll), which perhaps Forde falls more into the latter. His productions, kindred sound effects, beautiful synths, and always 'come away with me' lyrics, all truly as hypnotic as they seem to be intended.

I rarely post music titles, so please listen: John Forde "Star Dance"
