Earlier this week I had the pleasure of working with Erik Madigan Heck, photographer and editor of Nomenus Quarterly.

Since moving to New York, I've rarely encountered people under 30 whose creative vision and work ethic has set them so far apart from the masses. This was definitely one of those. I did a little bit of research before the meeting, and after close consideration of his work, reading a few interviews and articles, built up an image around him that was quite intimidating.

Meeting him in person was almost an entirely different experience to the one I had imagined, particularly as he was so soft spoken and kind, comporting such affability. Basically he had no ego, and was clearly a good guy. Especially for a photographer whose dealings with high fashion, and curation of fine arts drives fourth an expected level haughtiness. Especially when your magazine retails for $2,500.

Fingers crossed we'll be doing a little interview sometime early this week..
